PROJECT:

The atria in this new building was emitting too much solar radiation and glare directly over a walkway to the cafeteria.  The structural steelwork involved in the building made the fitting of standard atria blinds impossible.  The light gain through the atria was also affecting offices and classrooms with internal glazing preventing the effective use of AV equipment.

SOLUTION:

Astralux proposed System 5000 tensioned roller blinds. Bespoke brackets and guides allowed the blinds to manoeuvre between the steelwork and provide effective coverage. The installation was some 13m above ground level so it was essential to have a robust and low maintenance solution.   To screen the classroom windows manually operated audio visual venetian blinds were installed.
