Architects & Designers
Having worked with designers and architects exclusively on commercial and public buildings for over 95 years we understand the challenges that often need to be resolved.
We are asked for our expert advice on solar shading solutions for a wide range of building and glazing types. It is increasingly recognised by the design community that considering shading at an early stage of the project can have aesthetic benefits with solar shading being incorporated into the building design.
Similarly the energy saving benefits of our solar shading products means that early consideration can significantly help with managing the internal comfort of the building and positively impact the heating and cooling demands.
Through Pentel you will have access to probably the largest selection of internal and external blind solutions available in the UK. Whilst many of the projects we deal with are for products that are standard within our portfolio, we also offer bespoke solutions from simple colour matching right through to design, manufacture and installation of one-off solutions to meet your exact requirements.
As you would expect from one of the largest providers of solar shading in the contract market we have the necessary experience and resources to undertake any project.

Engineers
Increasingly we work with the engineering community regarding our solar shading solutions and other products.
Buildings account for around 40% of all energy use in the UK and it is therefore not surprising that there is an increasing focus on reduction in energy use and emissions within commercial buildings. With increasing compliance coupled with a continuing upward trend in energy costs we are often involved in discussing how our solar shading solutions can help.
Correctly specified and installed solar shading can help:
-
Reduce solar gain in the summer
-
Reduce heat loss in the winter
-
Harvest natural light
-
Provide ultimate control over light
Creating a building that provides occupants with a comfortable working environment invariably involves solar shading. Of course to maximise the benefits solar shading needs to be automated and linked to environmental controls. This requires planning at an early stage of the project – part of the building services package rather than a simple fixture and fitting.
Our technical experts can provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions including:
-
CAD Drawings
-
Full electrical specs for motorised solutions
-
Product weights and loadings
-
Solar and optical performance of fabrics
